About Us.
American Kenpo Tullamore Studio; A.K.T.S. was
formed in 2005 by Mr Jack Smith, 2nd degree Black Belt.
Mr Smith began his journey into martial arts around 1979
when he studied Shotokan Karate. At this time he became a very
successful student in local competitions..
In 1997 Mr Smith continued his journey in the form of sport karate,a combination of fitness training and sparring
but soon moved over to American Kenpo Karate, under the guidence of Mr James Dillon
From this date on Mr Smith was graded by Professor Downey and it was around that time that Mr Smith entered the National Karate Open Championships in Dublin where he came second in his class.
This would be the last time that Mr Smith would enter a sparring competition.
In 2005 Mr Smith achieved the rank of Black Belt and then in 2009 achieved his second dan black belt.
